DASS Student Enrollment Information
Durham Alternative Secondary School supports students, between the ages 17-21, with campuses in Pickering and Oshawa, Ontario. DASS provides students with flexible and innovative programming options in an alternative setting, reconnecting students to an education pathway to earn their OSSD.
Follow the Process below that best fits your needs:

A. International or Non-Resident Student
Students with a Non-Canadian passport or who are non-permanent residents, must complete international verification before beginning any DASS Application. Please start this by clicking the link to the DDSB registration site below and scrolling down to International student or Non-Resident Student and following their directions.
PROCESS
- Complete DDSB Registration above. Student must email internationalregistration@ddsb.ca and provide a transcript from their home country.
- Once all documentation has been reviewed, DDSB International Registration will email the student confirming that they may proceed with school enrollment.
- Students choosing DASS will then follow the Non-DDSB Student Application Process (Below-Section B.)
B. Non-DDSB Student Application Process
ELIGIBILITY

Students must be 17 years of age. Under 17 years of age, please contact your Secondary Home School. Find Your School Here

Students 21 years of age or older, please connect with Durham Continuing Education (DCE) at 905-436-3211.

Students do not need to have Grade 9 and 10 courses completed to attend DASS.
APPLICATION PROCESS

Register as a new student with our board. This step must be completed first before moving to Step 2!!
- Scroll to 'New Students Grades K to 12', and complete the 'New Student Online Registration'

Ensure you choose the correct year to which you are applying.

When choosing grade, choose Grade 12 only
2. Once Step #1 is complete, student will then complete the Non-DDSB Student Application online form for DASS and submit.
3. *IMPORTANT* Once the application is complete and submitted, the student/family MUST follow up with DASS via 905-579-1990 (Oshawa) or 905-839-2913 (Pickering) to book an appointment for consultation.
C. DDSB Student Only Referral Process
ELIGIBILITY

REFERRAL PROCESS

Students wanting to apply to DASS, must connect with their Home School Administrator (Principal or Vice-Principal) first.

DDSB Administrator will complete the DDSB Student Only Referral Application and submit.
- *IMPORTANT* Once the Home School Administrator has completed and submitted the 'DDSB Student Only Referral Application', the student/family MUST follow-up with DASS via 905-579-1990 (Oshawa) or 905-839-2913 (Pickering) to book an appointment for consultation.
